Biography
Dr. Wilcox completed her internal medicine residency in 2002 at the
University of Colorado at Denver, a psychiatry residency at the
University of California at San Francisco, and an addiction fellowship
at the University of New Mexico. She is currently on the faculty at the University of New Mexico, in the Addiction Division of the Department of Psychiatry. She works in the Dual Diagnosis Clinic, where she supervises and teaches residents and is a didactics coordinator for the residents during that rotation and for the addiction fellows.
Her main research interest is to identify moderators and mediators of
response to treatment for substance use disorders using tools such as
functional MRI, genetics, and neuropsychological testing. She is also
interested in motivational interviewing, obesity, pain disorders, and
and cultural psychiatry.
