Elizabeth Aston is an Assistant Professor (Research) in the Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies at Brown University. She received her Ph.D. in Neuroscience (2012) from Wake Forest School of Medicine where she investigated estimation of breath alcohol concentration and simulated driving behavior among heavy episodic drinkers. Dr. Aston was awarded a K01 career development award from the National Institute on Drug Abuse in 2015 to conduct qualitative and quantitative research to modify and validate a behavioral economic measure of demand for marijuana. She examines predictors of problematic cannabis use and the relative reinforcing value of marijuana. Her current research interests include qualitative methods, laboratory marijuana administration methodology, behavioral economic theory, and co-use of alcohol and marijuana.
