Biography
Dr. Kelly S. Barth received her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Biology/Psychology from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and her D.O. from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey – School of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Barth then entered the Combined Internal Medicine and Psychiatry Residency Program at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) where she also completed the Drug Abuse Research Training program. She then completed Fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania before returning to join MUSC as a faculty member in the Department of Psychiatry in 2008. Currently, Dr. Barth runs the Inpatient Substance Abuse Unit at MUSC and sees outpatients with co-morbid medical and psychiatric problems, specializing in those with chronic pain and addiction. She has also been awarded a career development award to perform research in the area of pain.
