Biography

Melanie McKean, D.O., Ph.D., is a psychiatrist with Saint Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Neurology & Psychiatry at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. McKean completed her doctoral work at Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences and earned her degree from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, followed by an internal medicine-psychiatry combined residency at Rush University Center.

Dr. McKean is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Psychiatric Association, and the Association of Medicine and Psychiatry. Dr. McKean has clinical expertise in women's mental health and women's primary care, with a focus on preventive medicine and the reproductive years. Dr. McKean has research interests in women's health and psychiatry, including postpartum depression, sexual disorders and reproductive dysfunction. In her spare time, Dr. McKean enjoys photography and spending time with her family.
